Guiliana steals the show in F3 practice

Steel Guiliana has soared to the top in practice for the F3 round of the Australian driver’s championship at Hidden Valley.

Guiliana’s R-Tek Motorsport machine was quickest overall for the day with his 1:06.14s lap within striking distance of the lap record at the 2.9km circuit near Darwin.

The New South Wales driver sits second in the championship but has three fastest laps to his credit this year, underlying his significant pace.

Nick Foster, the former Formula Ford and Porsche Carrera Cup ace was second fastest. Foster had pipped Guiliana in the slower second session later by just 0.009s.

Guiliana caps off stellar weekend with 2nd and the Fastest Lap

STEEL GUILIANA has kept together a stunning and consistent weekend with a string of 2nd places and 2 fastest laps, rocketing his way to 3rd position in the championship.

Guiliana got a great start from the outside of the front row to get his nose in front but Macrow, with the inside line, edged in front on the run down to the hair pin.

Guiliana glued his R-Tek Dallara to the gearbox of the Team BRM #2 machine, dove for the inside into Brambles Hairpin and snatched the lead from Macrow on lap 1. Defending into turn 6, Guiliana seemed to have held off a perusing Macrow, before a bold move around the outside saw Macrow take the lead.

A Pair of Seconds for Guiliana at Symmons Plains

STEEL GUILIANA has gone on to finish with two second places after qualifying on the front row at Symmons Plains.

Guiliana held the top spot during the back half of the mornings qualifying session, only to be beat to the pole by Tim Macrow for Team BRM.

Macrow and Guiliana were again the class of the field during the races, pushing each other to the very limit, with Guiliana lowering the current F3 lap record before Macrow took it back on the very last lap to take the win in race one.

Steel Guiliana bathurst 2013

STEEL GUILIANA has picked up exactly where he left off last weekend in Bathurst, by leading the field in this weekend’s opening day of the Symmons Plains V8 Supercar round in Launceston, Tasmania.

Guiliana edged out Formula 3 veteran and 2007 champion Tim Macrow in the opening practice session by 0.006 sec, before Tim repaying the favour in the second practice to just pip the R-Tek young gun.

STEEL GUILIANA kick started his 2013 Australian Formula 3 campaign off in impressive style at the Bathurst Motor Festival across the long Easter weekend, 29-31 March 2013.

Guiliana topped the time sheets in free practice before reigning Australian Formula 3 champion and ’12 Bathurst winner James Winslow pipped him right at the end of the session to claim the top spot.

The Saturday qualifying session started in dramatic style as Guiliana’s National Class team mate Todd Hazelwood spun on the entry to The Cutting on lap 2, bringing out the red flag. When the session resumed, Guiliana set the pace early with a 2 min 3.7106, one second under the official lap record, but was blocked by a slower car on the last lap, just being pipped to the pole by team mate Nathan Morcom.
